SMPL provides an API which you can either connect through Zapier or have your developer build a custom form submission. With either setup, you will first need to get your API credentials and configure your form(s) in your SMPL System.
PART I: SET UP YOUR FORMS IN SMPL
1) Go to the Zapier API tool. (Admin > API > Zapier/Forms on the left-nav menu.)
2) You need two credentials: The API Key and Secret Key. The API Key should already be set (if it is not, then contact us and we'll create one for you), and you'll need to generate the Secret Key by pressing the "Generate Key" button.
3) Next, you'll fill out some details about your form. You can have up to 10 forms, and can add or remove active forms at any time. Select the number of forms you wish to set up right now, and fill in a descriptive form name. You may also elect to receive email notifications from SMPL each time the form is submitted, and to execute a Stored Procedure on the new Event created (if you have Event fields configured in your Zap and mapped to SMPL, the system will create a new Event).
4) Field Mapping: This is where you'll assign fields in the Zap to fields in SMPL. The core fields in PERSON, COMPANY, and EVENT tables are available, as well as up to 10 CUSTOM fields in each table.
Important: In order to have a record inserted, the following minimum mappings are required:
PERSONS: Email Address, OR BOTH First Name and Last Name
EVENTS: Event Title/Party Name OR BOTH Event Date and Event Type
COMPANIES: Company Name

PART II: SETUP STEPS IN ZAPIER
1) Ensure you have an active Zapier account; sign in and let us know which email address is associated with this account. We will then send you an invite to SMPL System's Zapier App. (Our app is currently Private/By Invite Only, so it won't show up in a search.)
2) Click on the link in your invite email to begin setting up your connection.
3) The connection screen will ask you for the two credentials you saw and generated in Part I: The API Key and Secret Key. Copy and paste these in. (If you run into any issues with entering these values, or receive a connection error, let us know.)
4) Get your Zap on! We've noticed that the Zap setup screen frequently undergoes interface changes; they now have a Beta AI prompt where you enter what you want to do and they will build the Zap automatically for you. For this reason, we aren't going to list the steps here because they'll probably change again in a few weeks!! But here is a link to their quick start tutorial where you can learn how to create a Zap, for those who are new to Zapier!
To give an example of using the AI Prompt, let's say you are connecting Facebook Lead Ads to SMPL System. Enter something like, "I want my new leads from Facebook Lead Ads added to SMPL System."
As a side note, we are working on other implementations beyond entering new leads, such as entering appointments and communications (SMS, call logs, etc.). We will post updates as these additions become available.
CUSTOM/DEVELOPER IMPLEMENTATION
If you would like your developer to program POSTs to the SMPL API, you need to follow the instructions in PART I and send an email to our support team. We will directly send you the development instructions.
